I was shortly banned from the page, majority of the comments erased, except for the ones agreeing with the page admin. But seriously, I lol'd, then got sad that no one with a brain popped up to actually have a pleasant debate.

My main thing I was going to bring up is, they were saying a lot of water could drown a plant, while this is true, it's the same concept as a lv 50 Blastoise going head to head with a lv 10 Bulbasaur. Hydro Pump will kill it, no matter what. Same thing with Charizard vs Squirtle, Fire Blast would knock it out, and I'm pretty sure Venusaur's Vine Whip would slaughter a Charmander.
Considering Water Gun, one of the earliest moves to learn water-type-wise is just a few droplets on the opponent (in the game), which isn't enough to kill a plant, and would actually do nothing to the plant. (In the anime it's closer to a water hose, but still, the grass pokemon can handle that. You'd have to spray for hours to kill it, all of which is an eventual thing.)

Drowning plants is REAAAALLLLYYYYY hard, because usually plants absorb the amount of water they need. And I also believe plants get their minerals and shit because it's capture within the water? So water is like heaven for them.

Plus, there are plants that live IN water. Seaweed and shit, I believe those are plants as well... And if THEY don't have GALLOOONNSSSS of water around them, then WTF DOES?!

But if you hold a flame close to a dry plants it's WOOOOSH, bye plant.

Conclusion; You're correct and I'm not even a genius.
